You Matter

I love how God can speak to me, even while I’m doing the most mediocre of tasks.  The other day I was simply driving home from town, when a song came up on the radio and quickly crept into the deepest part of my heart. God was speaking. On this specific day, the words were simply, “you matter.” They sounded so sweet to my heart. In the midst of this deployment season, it’s easy to simply trudge from one unending task to another, not really taking time for myself, or seeing myself as important. It’s easy for me to focus on my failings, the things I never get done, and the failings of those around me, instead of on the good. For God to tell me that I matter was so wonderful. It was such a reminder of His presence in my life. Because of Him, I do matter. Because of Him, even grocery trips and loads of laundry are fulfilling a purpose. His calling on my life is to be a writer, mother and wife. He’s called me to those things, so He sees them as being important. I matter. You matter. The seemingly mundane tasks you may fulfill today matter. Your place in this world, as a military wife, is significant. You, and I matter.

"God—His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him" (Psalm 18:30, HCSB).

"I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made.Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well" (Psalm 139:14, HCSB).

"The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me. LORD, Your love is eternal; do not abandon the work of Your hands.(Psalm 138:8, HCSB)
